Technical BulletinsThe following list of technical bulletins are separated by the brand name of the device. There is also a general list at the top which covers issues that go beyond just being a problem with a specific device. We suggest you should review both the general catagory and look to see if the brand device you are trying to setup with the weemote® is also listed. Please note that it is very important to know the product code of your weemote® before you review these bulletins to verify if a given problem relates to your specific version.
NEW: NUMBER: G1, TITLE: Finding your code - Product Code R7 and later. We have provided a link below which is a detailed document covering how to search for your device code (TV or SET-TOP devices) If you either can't find your brand listed in the manual or you have tried the codes listed and still cannot get the weemote® to operate, please download this document to help you locate a code using the search process. Please note that these instructions only apply to weemote® TV remote controls with product code version R7 or later. If you are not sure which product code you have, check this link. APPLICATIONS NOTE FOR CODE SEARCHING NUMBER: G2, TITLE: Error in R7 Manual - Power Input TV Option. There is an error on Page 17 of the weemote® R7 Reference Guide with regard to the proper program sequence for setting this option. One step was omitted. After Step 2, you must Press and Release the "C" button before proceedng to STEP 3. When you peform this action, the LED light will turn off and then back on again GREEN. NUMBER: G3, TITLE: DirecTV DVR Models with Version 7 weemote®. This notice relates specifically to the latest model version 7 weemote® and weemote® Sr. TV remote controls. We have discovered a problem in this version where certain model DirecTV DVR and TiVo standalone units will not operate with the weemote®. The problem has been corrected with a software update. Please contact us if you are having this problem so we can advise you of the update process. The best way to do this is to send us a trouble report. Please include in your report the specific model you are using. NUMBER: G4, TITLE: TV/DVD or TV/VCR/DVD Combo Units This notice relates to setting up the weemote® with either a TV/DVD or TV/VCR/DVD combo unit. A "combo unit" is defined as having either a VCR, DVD or VCR/DVD device built directly into your TV's chassis. Standalone units plugged into your TV are not a problem. Any weemote® product code version below version 6 will not support these TV/DVD or TV/VCR/DVD combo devices. Current version models (Version 7 and later) do support a broad range of these devices. If you have one of these devices, and your weemote® is currently not working with your device, please send us a trouble report and provide us with the brand name and exact model number of your combo unit. We will then notify you at the that time of when we expect to release a supported weemote® version that will work with your combo unit. NUMBER: G5, TITLE: All Satelitte Receivers using radio RF remote control This notice relates to setting up the Weemote with certain Satellite Set-Top receivers. Some Satellite Set-Top receivers use RF/UHF radio signaling between the remote control and the Set-Top receiver. This allows a user to roam virtually anywhere in their house and change channels. It also allows the Set-Top receiver to be hidden from view, i.e. behind a cabinet. If you are able to change channels on your Set-Top receiver from anywhere in your house and you notice a small antenna attached to your Set-Top receiver, then your unit is set to operate the Remote Control over radio frequency (RF/UHF) signals. The Weemote uses standard Infrared Signaling to communicate with TV's and Set-Top boxes. This signaling is also referred to as IR Remote Control. Most systems use IR communication between the Remote Control and the Satellite Set-Top receiver . If your system uses radio frequency (RF/UHF) signaling and has no optional provision to use IR communication, the Weemote will not work with your Satellite Set-Top receiver. NUMBER: G6, TITLE: All VCR Standalone Players The weemote® was not designed to work using a standalone VCR's built-in tuner to change channels on your TV. The weemote® will support using a channel tuner built into a TV,TV/VCR, TV/DVD, cable box or satelitte receiver. NUMBER: G7, TITLE: Using Volume control with a Set-Top device This notice relates to setting up the Weemote where you want all of the remote control commands to be sent to a Set-Top box. This is usually the case when connecting a Set-Top box to an older TV that is not remote controllable. If you have this type setup, in order to make sure that the volume and mute commands are sent to the Set-Top box, you must clear out the TV code set from the factory. To do this, please refer to your weemote® manual on how to delete the STB code. NUMBER: G8, TITLE: Code Searching Issues This notice relates to our very early models, product codes 00 09 and 00 10. You can find the product code inside the battery compartment. There are cases where the code searching mode will not operate properly. You should press the number 1 button located inside the program area, next to the 10 and 100 buttons.
