Please note the following troubleshooting tips, many of which can be found in the weemote® reference manual.
1. The weemote® red LED light does not light or flash properly?
Check to make sure you have installed the batteries properly. Check to make sure that the batteries are not dead or too weak to operate the weemote®.
In some cases, especially if you have changed a weak set of batteries, the weemote may still have energy stored inside the unit that is causing the unit to behave erratically. A normal reset of the unit using the "999" command will not correct this problem. In this case, you need to do the following
Go ahead and pull the batteries completely out of the unit. Leave them out for 2 days. If you want to do this step faster, you can short out the battery contacts inside the battery compartment. Using a paper clip, bend it out so you have two metal ends. Take each metal end and touch it across the bottom two contacts at the bottom of the unit - area nearest the programming area/set-up cover. FYI - One of the springs is tall and springy and the other is flat - touch each metal end of the paper clip across these two posts. As soon as you touch the 2 posts, the weemote® will be completely cleared out. Reinstall fresh batteries.

2. The weemote® powers on my TV or SET-TOP but does not change channels?
The weemote® must have at least one channel programmed in order for channel changing to work. Press the channel buttons you programmed. If the LED does not light up brightly, i.e. the light is dim, then the channels have not been programmed properly. Please go back and repeat entering your channels.
MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW EACH STEP CAREFULLY. Many people make the error of pressing the "FAV" button at end of the favorite channel programming sequence which will not store the favorite channel, i.e. the favorite button when pressed will be dim and not bright which is normal.
If your setup is TV only, make sure you did not program in a set-top code by mistake. Try clearing the STB code by referring to the reference guide and entering the "333" delete command.
Check to make sure you have set the proper code in the weemote®. Sometimes a code will only partially work. Fully test each code as described in this manual.

3. I see the correct channel digits on my TV but the channel does not change?
Make sure you programmed in the ENTER option or 3-Digit option, depending on what your equipment needs. Some TV’s or Set-Top boxes will not change channels until either 3 complete digits or an ENTER command has been sent from the weemote®.

4. I have a Sony TV (TV Setup Only) and and when I programmed in the favorite channels, the channels that show up on the TV are totally different, i.e. I programmed channel 35 and get channel 98?
Check to make sure you have set the correct code in the weemote®. This happens frequently with Sony codes. The weemote is designed to output exactly the channel number you program in when pressing the channel buttons in normal operation. Keep trying other codes.
Please note that you may have the same channel problem if you are also using a Set-Top device. In this case, when you press the weemote® RED power button to turn on your system, the weemote® sends a channel command to the TV to make sure it is set to channel 3 (or other setting if you change this option) Again, if the TV code is not exact, your TV may go on to a completely different channel.
Check to make sure you have set the proper code in the weemote®. Sometimes a code will only partially work. Fully test each code as described in this manual.

5. The channel digits on my TV display show always show either the first or last digit I programmed in. For example, channel 57 shows up as channel 5 or 7?
It sounds like you need to make some speed adjustments in the weemote®. You should look at the Speed Adjustment Information on the main support page which describes how you can make speed adjustment settings with your weemote (applies to weemote 2® and later models only).

6. Whenever I turn on the Set-Top box, the TV turns on, then back off.
Check to see if your TV is plugged into your set-top box. If so, plug it directly into an AC outlet.

7. The channel up/down button only goes to the channels I programmed in the weemote®, not to all channels like a standard remote?
The weemote® amd weemote® 2 models were designed to limit channel access. You cannot change this setting in these models. However, in the weemote® 2, you do have the option to can this control completely off.
In the weemote® 3 and weemote® Sr, the factory setting is to limit channel access to only the channels programmed into the unit. However, we have introduced an option in these models that will allow you to set the channel control to go to all channels like a standard remote. Check your manual in the special options section for more information on how to change this setting.

8. I notice that sometimes the weemote® seems to get confused. Sometimes, the programmed channels get knocked out of alignment when the child is pressing the buttons too quickly?
There are two possible problems here. The first is to check and make sure whether you need the ENTER or 3-Digit option. Some TV’s and Set-Tops will delay until they change channels if they do not see 3-Digits or an ENTER command. Without this option set, channel changing will be unreliable.
Depending on your TV or Set-Top, the weemote® may be sending the channel changing information too slowly. You should look at the Speed Adjustment Information on the main support page which describes how you can make speed adjustment settings with your weemote (applies to weemote 2® and later models only).

9. I have a TiVo system and cannot find my code or have TiVo built into my Set-Top device and can't figure our which codes to try?
Your best bet is to try all the codes listed for the different TiVo models first. Then, if those don't work, and you have TiVo built into your Set-Top device, then try the codes listed for the manufacturer of your Set-Top device
You also need to be aware of the fact that you cannot test a TiVo code by pressing the weemote® power button as described in some of our manuals. In these cases where you are testing a code that you need for a TiVo device, after you enter the code, try one of the favorite channel buttons to confirm you have the correct code. The power button test does not apply in these devices since these units never get turned completely off

10. I am confused with exactly what I have setup in the weemote® at this point. What should I do now?
Your best bet is to reset the weemote® and start over. Refer to the reference guide on clearing the weemote® back to factory settings.
